In the last week of August 2019, all attentions will be focused in Coimbra, host city of the 2019 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships.

The Portuguese Canoe Federation, the main organizer of the event, has been the host of several European and World Championships in Canoeing in the past decade, focused until now in Sprint and Marathon events.

In 2019 Portugal will be back to Canoe Polo international events after more than 20 years from the 1998 Canoe Polo World Championships, that took place in the city of Aveiro. 

The choosen venue is Coimbra, city of the students and of the Canoe Polo National Champions, Clube Fluvial de Coimbra.
