The 2019 ECA Canoe Polo European Championships will be the second event to qualify teams for the 2020 World Championships to be held in Rome, Italy.

The International canoe Federation released this week the qualification system for 2020 World Championships, where more than 70 teams are expected to compete.

In this document it is explained the complete qualification system, including the maximum number of teams per category that would be able to compete in Italy and how are those teams qualified.

In all four categories(Men,Women,U21 Men and u21 Women), one quota will be given to the best team competing in Coimbra European Championships 2019.

So, the highest placed team not yet qualified from the first qualification stage in each event at the respective Continental Canoe Polo Championships competition will obtain qualification places for their National Federation.

If there is no eligible team participating in an event at the continental championships the qualification place reverts to be a wildcard.
